Home Projects Residential 7887 Ridgeland Drive
7887 Ridgeland Drive

This residence had been abandoned at the time the architect discovered it and purchased it as his own family home. A full restoration was required for the slate roof, copper gutters and downspouts, redwood siding and limestone walls. All windows had to be replaced, and care was taken to replicate original lines with the new, energy efficient models. While restoring the exterior, kitchen and bath remodel work was done as well. All oak and walnut floors and many plaster walls inside were re-finished. A third bedroom was created upstairs and the stairway was modified to an open, airy design. The family room was completely redesigned to create an entertainment center, french doors entry off the back hall and a direct connection to the walnut finished library with french walnut doors; all work done to match/complement the current home's architecture. Lastly, the entire property received regrading and new landscaping. This home had been the derelict house in the neighborhood and became the best - leading to re-investments into other properties throughout the area.
